Metro Cooking Class: Cooking with Mushrooms

Some edible wild mushrooms from AlbertaOn Wednesday, May 11, 2016 I’m going to be leading a cooking class for Metro Continuing Education called Cooking with Mushrooms.

From hen-of-the-woods to evoke, mushrooms are mysterious creatures – but there’s no reason to fear the fungus!  Learn how to identify the most common cultivated and wild mushrooms available at local markets, and discuss best practices for preparing them at home.  We’ll taste several varieties of mushroom by making g classic standbys like soup, duxelles, and mushrooms on toast.  Hand-on/demonstration course.
