Little Brick’s Home School: Valentine’s Day Session

February 11, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

$100

LB_home_schoolIt’s almost time for another Little Brick Home School session.  These evenings are hosted by Little Brick Café & General Store in Riverdale, and are designed to teach folks useful skills pertaining to cooking, gastronomy, home decoration, and other indispensable domestic arts.

This time around the presentations are focused on Valentine’s Day dinner.  The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of a V-Day dinner is Champagne.  This perhaps says more about me than Valentine’s Day.  At any rate, I will be hosting a tasting of Champagne and a few other sparkling wines like Prosecco and Crémant.  Cory Christopher will teach you how to shape topiaries to make elegant table decorations, and Erica Vliegenthart will have you rolling out your own scratch pasta to use as an entrée, which could possibly lead to a Lady-and-the-Tramp-style noodle kiss.

At the risk of sounding insincere or salesman-like, I love doing these events.  Little Brick is a beautiful, intimate space, and I’m beyond lucky that a tiny part of my job is sitting at the long boardroom table there, drinking wine.

I won’t be dressed like this on February 11, but this is the only picture I have the features Champagne prominently.
